Visual and textual narratives have not only become popularised but the noise the young are exposed to for many can be too much. Narratives play a key role in shaping the thoughts and actions of our young and this series of books readings aim to place a spotlight on empowerment and confidence for the young.

These books also act as a visual and colourful bridge between the parent and child and whilst the black author and main protagonist are still a minority within publishing overall this series can only be a positive move in levelling the field.
